Some great new music this week, let’s get to it:

The War On Drugs – Pain

Third taster from the upcoming album A Deeper Understanding, and the anticipation mounts

Neil Young – Hitchhiker

New Old music from Shakey.  The album of the same name was recorded in 1976, but was never released. That’s all set to change on September 8th, and Neil’s issued the title track this week

The Smiths – The Queen Is Dead (Live)

Released through the band’s official YouTube channel a week ago, oddly, this track doesn’t appear on the upcoming reissue of their 1986 album of the same name. Taken from a US show in August ’86

Giants In The Trees – Sasquatch

This is Krist Off Nirvana’s new band, comprising himself, Erik Friend, Jillian Raye and Ray Prestegard.  Not a million miles away from 90s alt-rock, unsurprisingly.  We like it.

Primus – The Seven

Brilliantly Bonkers Business As Usual.  New album The Desaturating Seven is out September 29th

New Album Of The Week
Fangclub – Fangclub

Happy to say that the radio station where I previously worked, 105.2 TXFM, was the first Irish radio station to play Fangclub’s music, back in 2015.  Their self-titled debut album fulfils the promise we saw in them back then.  They’re from Rush in County Dublin, and their debut is well worth your time. For fans of intelligent Alt-Rock.

Reissue Of The Week
Def Leppard – Hysteria (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)

It had to be really, didn’t it?  We’ve covered it in-depth here
