Click away and enjoy our favourite songs of the past 7 days:

The The – We Can’t Stop What’s Coming

Originally released on 7″ vinyl for Record Store Day 2017, the first new single from The The in ten years is very very welcome.  Taken from a new documentary called The Inertia Variations

Phoenix – Ti Amo

Phoenix release the title track from their upcoming, sixth studio album which will be with us on June 9th.  This track sees them dooing what they do best, shimmering summery pop

Royal Blood – Hook, Line and Sinker

The dullest interviewees in rock share the second taster from their upcoming album How Did We Get So Dark?.  Album’s out June 16th, and it’s 35 minutes long, which is the perfect length for an album if you ask us.  This song is brimful of riffage, and very good

Lana Del Rey – Coachella – Woodstock In My Mind

Third track from Lana’s new album Lust For Life. which still has no release date.  She always sounds like she does her vocal take while getting a back massage, and this song is no different

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark – La Mitrailleuse

Hooray! There’s a new OMD album out this year.  The Punishment Of Luxury will be with us on September 1st, and this is the lead track.  Sounds like their early stuff, and there’s more than a hint of Dazzle Ships from this song.

New Album Of The Week
!!! – Shake The Shudder

Album number seven from !!! is a glorious mish-mash of thumping beats, killer melodies and serious grooves.  Twelve songs over fifty minutes, and not one of them wasted

Reissue Of The Week
Various Artists – Singles OST

We were going to go for this as Reissue Of The Week even before the tragic passing of Chris Cornell, and he features a lot on this new expanded edition with seven solo tracks and two with Soundgarden.  The album comes as a double CD set, or a double LP + single CD set.  The Cd included with the vinyl version is the second disc of the 2CD set, so you get all the tracks if you opt for the vinyl.  Buy it, listen to it loud, and remember Chris.
