Two days to go until The Best Day Of The Year™, so here’s the final part of our recommended releases for Record Store Day 2017.  Part 1 here, and Part 2 here

The Smiths – The Boy With The Thorn In His Side/Rubber Ring (Alt. versions)

This will sell out. Fast.  7″ single with two previously unreleased versions of Smiths classics.  side A is The Boy With The Thorn In His Side (demo mix), and Side B houses Rubber Ring (early Drone Studios version).  This release is a pre-cursor to a reissue campaign for The Queen Is Dead

Stevie Nicks – Rarities 12″

A six-track EP on 12″ vinyl taking in tracks from last year’s Bella Donna and The Wild Heart deluxe editions:

Side a: 1. Bella Donna (demo) (3:31), 2. Edge of Seventeen (early take) (6:41), 3. After the Glitter Fades (live 1981 (4:05)
Side b: 1. Wild Heart (session) (6:36), 2. Blue Lamp (from Heavy Metal soundtrack) (3:48) 3. Sleeping Angel (from Fast Times at Ridgemont High soundtrack) (4:40)

The The – We Can’t Stop What’s Coming

Matt Johnson’s first single in 15 Years!  with Johnny Marr on guitar, this is a one-sided etched 7″ single

Toto – Africa/Rosanna

An Africa-shaped 7″ picture disc, with a picture of Rosanna Arquette on the B-side. Quality.

The Time – What Time Is It?

Prince-assisted second album from Morris Day’s crew, available on green vinyl.  All tracks written by Prince, despite what the sleevenotes say!

U2 – Red Hill Mining Town (2017 mix)

Another release that will last mere seconds on the shelves this Saturday.  U2 are one of the mist collectible bands in the world, and those nefarious eBay-flippers will want this.  Bono has recorded new vocals for this version, and Steve Lillywhite has remixed the track.  12″ picture disc in advance of The Joshua Tree 30th anniversary reissue and tour

That’s it! Happy shopping, and we hope you find what you’re looking for.  More details, and a list of participating stores here
